How to get from Dubai to Fujairah

To travel from Dubai to Fujairah, there are several options depending on your budget, comfort level and preference for freedom of movement. The distance is approximately 120 to 130 km, and the journey usually takes between 1h15 and 2h30, depending on the mode of transport.

By car or taxi

The car is the fastest and most flexible option. The main road is the E84 (Sheikh Khalifa Highway / Dubai–Fujairah Road), which is well paved and pleasant, crossing the Hajar Mountains. The journey takes about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes under normal traffic conditions. If you opt for a taxi or private hire car service, fares are generally around AED 250–350 (70-80 USD) for a direct journey. This option is convenient if there are several of you and you want door-to-door transport.

By public bus

There is a direct intercity bus between Dubai and Fujairah, operating from Union Square Bus Station to Fujairah Bus Station. The journey takes approximately 2h15 to 2h30, covering a distance of around 120 km. The price is very affordable, at around AED 25 (7 USD) per person, and buses run approximately every 90 minutes throughout the day. Payment is made with a NOL Card.

Future: Rail

A national rail network is currently being rolled out, with a line planned to connect Dubai to Fujairah by around 2026, offering a new transport option.
